Dionne Warwick and three former members of the '60s singing group the Shirelles are suing the producers of the Broadway musical Baby I Love You for using their likenesses without permission.
R&B singer Chuck Jackson and other musicians are also plaintiffs in the suit, which was filed Tuesday in New York state Supreme Court. According to the Los Angeles Times, the lawsuit states that producers are "cashing in" on the singers and using their "names, likenesses, and biographical information without their consent."
The filing also claims that the entertainers were "cheated out of their royalties when they were young and popular [and] are now victimized again."
Baby I Love You is playing at New York's Broadhurst Theatre and does not employ the Shirelle's biggest hit, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow."
