Granny Smith mine site is seeking a Business Improvement Analyst to join their Business Improvement team. Reporting to the BI Superintendent, you will be required to lead a culture of Business Improvement by articulating and reinforcing the vision, strategy and principles associated with the Barrick Business Improvement program.

?Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist the BI superintendent with the coordination of Strategic Business Planning reviews, business improvement projects and change management initiatives.
  • Monitor BI Systems and business processes
  • Provide specialized knowledge and coaching to the mine site Senior Leadership Team & Business Improvement team
  • Foster business improvement awareness throughout the mine site through education in problem solving tools and methodologies
  • Ensure specific, measurable, appropriate KPIs are in place against which progress is regularly reviewed and monitored.
  • Engage the workplace in new ideas that will improve the business
  • Assist with monthly reporting

Requirements:

  • Degree in a business-related or technical discipline and/or a strong trade background with appropriate experience. Practical application of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles preferred
  • Significant experience in a mining/heavy industry environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing change within large organizations and/or a strong desire to manage change and drive improvement
  • Experience in engaging a team to deliver agreed outputs
  • ?Passion and energy to engage in improvement activities at all levels through your ability to lead and influence stakeholders
  • Solid understanding and experience using continuous improvement techniques & methodologies or the ability to quickly learn these
  • Sound interpersonal skills especially in the areas of communication and group facilitation
  • ?Ability to coach site management and improvement teams as required in the use of the BI framework, strategy, tools and methodologies.
  • ?Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
